Abstract
The frequencies and intensities of transitions to Rydberg levels, the direct photoionization cross section, and the angular distribution of photoelectrons of N2 have been calculated for processes associated with N2+(X 2Σg+) and N2+(A 2Πu). The theoretical model is based on a Hartree-Fock wavefunction for the ground state of N 2, and excited state wavefunctions derived from an irreducible-tensorial one-center representation of the effective potential of the N2+ core. The calculations were carried out for several internuclear distances, especially to try to interpret the dependence of the angular distribution on the final vibrational state.
