Abstract

Research on the mechanisms of particle-bubble interaction has provided valuable information on how to improve the flotation of fine (<20 μm) and coarse particles (>100 μm) with novel flotation machines which provide higher collision and attachment efficiencies of fine particles with bubbles and lower detachment of the coarse particles. Also, new grinding methods and technologies have reduced energy consumption in mining and produced better mineral liberation and therefore flotation performance.
