Abstract

Key points Increasing pressure from funders to enable tracking of research outputs that result from their funding is driving the adoption of the ORCID iD. Developers of submission and peer-review systems have built tools to gather and authenticate ORCID iDs from authors during manuscript submission. Crossref Auto-update of author ORCID records requires authenticated iDs, but many publishers generate Crossref metadata XML from the author manuscript. eXtyles ORCID Integration Suite allows automated reconciliation and synchronization between the submission system's transmittal file and the author manuscript.
