Abstract

During a last decade, three dimensional ultrasound image(3D US image) has been very popular with ultrasound diagnosis. About 10 years ago, we regarded 3D US image as troublesome considering its procedure for reconstruction of a large quantity of volume data. Owing to the rapid progress of computing technology, now we can handle 3D US image very easily without a long reconstruction time, and then we can see real-time 3D US image (4D US image). We should guess, in the near future, 3D US image to be useful modality for diagnosis and interventional method.
