Abstract
Allele frequencies at seven variable isozyme loci were analyzed in consecutive samples of brown trout caught every five months in four areas of the Esva Basin (Spain). Results showed no significant temporal variation. We concluded that isozyme polymorphisms are not a transient but a steady feature of this wild population, and discussed the role of migration to determine genetic patterns of local subpopulations.
