This article explores the political economy of the megaproject Porto Maravilha, in Rio de Janeiro. It addresses the relationship among private and public actors, institutional arrangements, investment conditions and risk sharing. Porto Maravilha concentrates many different types of urban capital in one territory under particular political and institutional conditions.
