Abstract

Obesity and periodontal diseases are significant public health issues. Epidemiological studies demonstrated a link between obesity and periodontitis. The physiopathological mechanisms that could explain this link remain to be elucidated. The healing process after periodontal treatment seems to be less effective in obese patients, but this remains to be demonstrated.
