Headteachers, school management boards, parent representatives, teachers, and pupils from 34 Danish schools completed interviews. Additional collected data included school environment observations. Sub-themes of this included (1) teacher personality and qualifications; (2) teacher collaboration; (3) parent–school collaboration; (4) school management; (5) discipline; (6) teachers' attitudes; and (7) traditions. A 3rd primary theme was the school and local community, which included the sub-themes of (1) pedagogical psychological counseling service; (2) relations between preprimary institutions and primary schools; (3) recreation centers; and (4) resources. The 4th primary theme of pupils included (1) disturbing boys; (2) unorthodox pupils; (3) pupils with learning difficulties; (4) pupils with social and emotional problems; and (5) social change.
