Abstract
Black microcolonial\rfungi and black yeasts are inhabitants of extreme environments like vulcanic,\rdesert and polar regions, where they are exposed to enhanced temperature\ralterations and desiccation. They have\rdeveloped, therefore, extraordinary biologic characteristics which are mainly based on the expression of proteins, however,\rthese are rarely studied and known. The review article presented here is focused\ron the obstacles and solutions for the proteomic analyses of this very\rparticular fungal species.
