Abstract

The objective of this article is to contribute for the debate on the progresses and limits of the newinstitutionalism for the interpretation of the systems of parliamentary committees, as well as the analytical possibilities offered by the concepts of multiple arenas and veto players. For so much, a comparative exercise is accomplished among North American and European experiences, as well as an approach with both Latin-American Eastern European experiences.
