Abstract

The effect of graphite particle size on oxidation of graphene oxide prepared by Modified Hummer's method has been investigated. The oxidation was performed on three different sized graphite particles 20μm, 100μm and 250μm.The samples were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction, FTIR.The CV studies for the different sized particles has been performed to study the electrochemical behavior of graphene oxide. This study demonstrates the dependence of oxidation of graphene oxide on the particle size of the graphite powder. The smaller particle sized graphite powder shows good oxidation.
