Abstract

This study aims to review the work of students by experimenting with the use of natural purple sweet potato as the main ingredient in the dyeing process of batik cloth which was carried out by the researcher himself. As well as the stages of the process carried out in the manufacture of batik dyes, to find out how the results of batik coloring in terms of color evenness, color sharpness and color absorption by setting different soaking times. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive analysis technique with an experimental approach, by following the procedure the researcher describes the students' batik works using purple sweet potato dye and using different fixators. The results of the coloring experiment on purple sweet potatoes concluded that the best result among the three color locks was the lime fixator, this can be seen from the three data that have been assessed by the assessment team and also the researcher's own assessment.
