Abstract

This work aims to evaluate the economic and social impact of the Passadiços do Paiva in the Northern Region of Portugal. The method of analysis used is quantitative and exploratory. Nature tourism is concerned with responsible environmental behavior, promoting environmental education and equity between generations, based on a sustainable development model and seeking to improve the quality of life of local populations. From the results obtained through 300 responses to the survey, it can be concluded that this tourism product can be integrated into a strategic plan for the region development and constitute a key factor for attracting investment.
