Abstract

The paper presents the results obtained during the experiments carried out in order to establish the influence of the processing method applied to the refractory electrodes, used in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, on the shape and stability of the welding arc, but also on some geometric parameters related to the deposit process, such as penetration. The variations of the dimensions of the welding arc, caused by the change of the geometrical shape at the top of the electrode, are presented in graphical form.
