Supramolecular structure of the mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation system

Abstract

The protein complexes of the mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation system were recently reported to form supramolecular assemblies termed respiratory supercomplexes or respirasomes. These supercomplexes are considered to be of great functional importance.
