Abstract
Batik learning is an effort from the world of education in preserving local culture which is packaged in learning at school. Batik learning is found in the curriculum in elementary to high school. The local content is a characteristic of an area where students live in the area. Learning to make batik is not just a theory, but practice is needed to train students' skills in addition to their knowledge. Learning batik in elementary schools is not only seen from the point of view of the results of knowledge and skills. However, it can also be seen from the students' social values or character during the learning process. This study aims to analyze the social value of the process of students in the practice of making batik in their area. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with the method taken, namely descriptive analysis. This study uses Miles and Huberman data analysis in analyzing the data collected from observations and interviews in the field. So the results of this study, namely the analysis of students' social values are divided into three namely Material Values, Spiritual Values, and Vital Values which are shown during the practice of making batik. Material value is the value of basic needs when learning that must exist, while vital value is a complementary value that students must get so that learning is conducive, and spiritual value is the emotional response of students to the learning.
