Abstract

We prepared functionalized reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-based nanocomposites with enhanced optical properties, which are linked to the broad emission band in the whole visible light region, providing great potential for the development of optoelectronic devices. The rGO-ZnO nanoparticle (NP) nanocomposites exhibited enhanced optical properties, and the fluorescence performances of the nanocomposites strongly depended on the rGO/ZnO NP mass ratio. These nanocomposites are cost effective and efficient approach to control the luminescence properties by tuning the rGO/ZnO NP mass ratio. We explored the ZnO NPs density limit on rGO and enhanced the fluorescence emission intensity of nanocomposites by ten times. These functionalized rGO based nanocomposites have been projected as a luminous nanocomposite a future material, provide an effective way for expanding the optoelectronics applications of rGO.
