Abstract

COVID-19 has caused a dramatic shortage of hospital ICU beds. We have thus developed a Web app to track the availability of hospital ICU beds using React.js and other modern Web development technologies. Web development nowadays is increasingly moving towards leveraging JavaScript frameworks and libraries rather than using basic Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript to facilitate the implementation of dynamic features and functionalities of modern Rich Internet Applications. React or ReactJS has cemented itself as the frontrunner in a sea of competing JavaScript frameworks. In this presentation, we give an overview of the functionalities that make ReactJS a stand-out option, present the foundational features that create deep flexibility while also maintaining robust functionality, outline the flattened learning curve that makes React an attractive choice for new and seasoned developers, and describe the implementation and features of our Web App.
