The article discusses the importance of remembering the violence by Colombian paramilitary forces, primarily against women and minor children, in the department of Magdalena, Colombia between 1997-2005. The author gives thanks to the Historic Memory of the National Commission of Reparation and Reconciliation (Memoria Histórica de la Comisión Nacional de Reparación y Reconciliación) for reconstructing a documented history of the committed crimes. A context of the paramilitary war is provided by the author, including the paramilitary's financing of their war through ranchers, merchants, multinationals and the University of Magdalena, Colombia. Violations of human rights and atrocities included sexual assault against minor females in many towns, affirms the author.
