Abstract

The Islamic finance sector and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia are experiencing an acceleration of digital transformation that encourages the birth of technology-based financial innovation. Islamic fintech is emerging as an essential solution that integrates sharia principles with digital technology to support justice, inclusion, and economic efficiency. This study aims to analyze the contribution of sharia fintech in increasing financial inclusion and digital literacy of MSME actors in Indonesia, as well as examine the application of the principles of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah in the governance of digital financial services. The research method uses a qualitative approach through a literature study that includes academic literature, OJK reports, and various empirical research results for the period 2020 to 2024. The results of the study show that sharia fintech expands access to MSME financing through the implementation of sharia contracts such as mudharabah, musyarakah, and halal crowdfunding that effectively increase economic justice for business actors. In addition, the use of interactive applications has been proven to play a role in increasing digital literacy and public understanding of sharia law principles. From the governance aspect, the value of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah is implemented through the use of smart contracts, blockchain technology, and regulations from OJK-DSN-MUI to ensure transparency, security, and trust in digital financial management. Overall, this study concludes that sharia fintech plays a strategic role in actualizing Islamic values in a sustainable digital economy ecosystem, while strengthening inclusion, ethics, and social benefits for MSMEs in the era of digital transformation.
