Abstract

This article summarizes available clinical evidence regarding the efficacy, safety/teratogenicity, and cost-effectiveness of thalidomide for the treatment of multiple myeloma in comparison with its analogues, particularly lenalidomide. Current Brazilian regulations for dispensing and prescribing thalidomide are also discussed.
