Una mirada latinoamericana sobre la subjetividad y la psicología social: Conversación a tres voces con Fernando González Rey

Abstract

Fernando González-Rey is Cuban-born psychologist that has made a valuable and original contribution to Latin American social psychology, particularly in relation to the study of personality, subjectivity, educational processes and qualitative research, from a critical perspective. In recognition of his legacy, here we present an interview conducted with him in 2010. Here he talks about topics such as the development of Latin American social psy-chology, the cultural-historical perspective in psychology, the value of theory for psycho-logical inquiry and the challenges that he envisioned, in that moment, for psychology at the epistemological and political levels. Although they respond to the situation of that particular context, González-Rey's approaches in this conversation offer, even today, im-portant clues to interrogate the ups and downs of psychosocial studies in the Latin Ameri-can context.
