Abstract
A new Dadanitic inscription was recently discovered during archaeological excavations near the temple of the oasis city of Dadān, located in north-west Saudi Arabia. This inscription deals with a Dadanite king, who offers a dedication to a deity of Dadān. This deity appears for the first time and has never been mentioned in early Arabic literature. The dedicated stone shows representations of several animals and a palm tree illustrating Dadān's religious symbols during the second half of the first millennium BC. © 2011 John Wiley & Sons A/S.
