Abstract

One of the most appropriate technologies needed by consumers is food processing machines such as sweet potato slices, especially to improve production quality and yield. At this research stage, structural analysis tests will be carried out using the finite element method first, followed by the manufacturing and testing stages. In the testing phase, it will be tested five times, and for each test five samples are taken to measure the thickness of the chopped cassava. The results of the structural analysis obtained the maximum von Mises stress value in the cassava chopper machine frame simulation of 1.06x 107 MPa. The displacement value in the cassava chopper machine frame simulation is 1.08x101 mm. The Strain value in the cassava chopper machine frame simulation is 3.04x105 mm. The safety factor value in the cassava chopper frame simulation is 23.42. The safety value is included in the safe criteria when operated. The smallest cutting speed is 2850rpm with a thickness of 0.5 mm, while the biggest cutting is at 1650rpm.
