Enhancing Literature Review through AI-based Research Tools: A Comparative Study of SciSpace and Semantic Scholar

Abstract

A detailed literature review is crucial in research as it offers a deep insight into past studies, highlights research gaps, and steers researchers towards new research directions. The use of AI tools has transformed the literature review process by efficiently managing vast amounts of data, detecting emerging trends, and assisting researchers in navigating various information sources. In this study, the researcher ventured into a comprehensive examination of two renowned AI-based Research Tools namely SciSpace and Semantic Scholar. After a detailed evaluation of both tools, it was found that Semantic Scholar boasts a larger database compared to SciSpace. However, SciSpace offers several unique features that can be immensely beneficial for research scholars conducting literature reviews.
