Abstract

Quenching processes for 60Si2CrVAT spring steel were optimized, the influence of quenching temperature on microstructure and mechanical properties was studied. Relationship among microstructure, mechanical properties and fatigue performance were analyzed. The results show that the 60Si2CrVAT spring steel has preferable combination of strength and toughness when quenched at 910℃±10℃ then tempered at 400℃. It is concluded that the length of martensite should be controlled within 0.03 mm which can ensure the service performance of 60Si2CrVAT steel spring.
