Abstract

Research data management is an activity to create data and plan data, organize data, store and share data. This study analyzes two of the four main activities in research data management, storing and sharing data. This study uses a qualitative method with respondents from researchers, librarians, and head of laboratories from 8 research institutions in the field of social sciences. The method of data collection is interviews with resource persons. The results of this study are that data storage activities are generally still carried out by each individual researcher. Only 2 institutions from 8 institutions collected research data at the institution. The data storage media used is still focused on individual computers (personal computers). The research data sharing activity is limited to the members of the research team. There is one researcher who shares research data with individuals outside the institution due to proximity. Then the most widely used media to share research data is email.
