Colombian military aeronautics research center capabilities and their strategic approach

Abstract

This article analyzes the strategic focus and capabilities of Colombian military aeronautics research centers. Six centers in the sector were identified and analyzed based on their capabilities and strategy to determine their maturity in science and technology. Moreover, how these variables relate to three strategic sector scenarios. It was noted that the centers have knowledge production capacities. However, they must be strengthened to achieve technological development and innovation, a part of their strategic objectives. Advances in science and technology in the military aeronautical sector are fundamental to fulfilling national defense and security policies.
