Abstract

The role of an eco-friendly catalyst is potential in green chemistry. Its contribution is even more significant if the catalyst is natural, abundantly available and recyclable. Chitosan is one such catalyst, which has wider applications in various domains. Recent research findings of chitosan and its derived materials as catalysts in the synthetic approaches towards affording various heterocyclic scaffolds are briefly discussed in this academic review.
