National Survey of Fitness Trends in Mexico for 2024

Abstract

There are already five editions of the Mexican fitness trends survey. Objective: to know the fitness trends in Mexico by 2024, to compare the results with the Mexican survey of the previous year, and with the main trends of the United States of America. Method: a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, and comparative longitudinal study. The study population is fitness instructors based in Mexico, and the sample is non-probabilistic (n= 1.266). An adaptation of the Worldwide Survey of Fitness Trends to the Mexican context was used for the data collection. Results: the main fitness trends in Mexico for 2024 are exercise and weight loss programs, personal training, traditional strength training, training and feeding programs, as well as functional training. 14 trends re-main from 2023 to 2024 and seven of the main Mexican trends coincide with those of the United States of America. Conclusions: regarding the local dimension of the analysis, fitness trends in Mexico report some stability, 70% of the main trends of 2023 remain for 2024, and at the same time, present a certain degree of update with the remaining 30%. Regarding the study's international di-mension, there are seven coincidences between the main fitness trends in Mexico and those in the United States of America.
