Abstract

Barium titanate (BaTiO3) fine particles were coated with silica via the sol-gel reactions of tetraethyl orthosilicate. The solgel silica coating significantly stabilizes the BaTiO3 particles in acidic solutions and changes the zeta potential of the particles to that similar to pure silica. © 1995.
