Abstract

Objective: To study the relationship between campylobacter jejuni (CJ) infection and Guillain-barre syndrome (GBS). Methods: The method of ELISA was used to detect the antibodies (IgG, IgM, IgA) to CJ in the serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of the 40 patients with GBS. The control groups consisted of the patients with other neurologic diseases and normal people. Result: The recent infection rate of CJ in GBS group was higher (50%) than that (30%) of the controls, but not statistically significant. Conclusion: The real relationship between GBS and CJ is still uncertain.
