Abstract

For professionals and patients alike, home-based clinical practice mobilises special forms of bonds. The present article is devoted to exploring these modalities based on the hypothesis that the organization of institutions is structured around a certain number of figures. These figures run through and organize their theories of care, as well as their practices and relations within the institution and with the outside world. The figure of dislodgement is one of these and is particularly relevant in understanding the implications of home-based practice. Based on action-oriented research conducted by a SESSAD (Specialised Education and Homebased Care Service), this paper seeks to bring out the main lines of approach of a metapsychology of home-based practices in order to think out the singular trends at work in such institutions as rely on home-based care provisions.
