Abstract

O artigo discute a recente onda de reformas da gestão educacional no Brasil e nos países desenvolvidos de língua inglesa que visam ampliar a participação comunitária na administração da escola. A partir de várias análises, argumenta-se que tais reformas têm sido pouco eficazes na promoção do empowerment de pais e alunos.This article deals with the recent wave of reforms on the educational administration in Brazil and in the English-speaking developed countries that intend to expand the community participation in the school administration. Based on several analyses, it argues that such reforms are not effective enough to empower students and their parents.
