El negocio del siglo. Los judeoconversos y la renta de la seda del Reino de Granada (siglo XVI)

Abstract

The renta de la seda in Granada was one of the most relevant taxes in Early Modern Spain. The research in which this article is based on, shows that most of the tax farmers involved in managing the Renta de la Seda were close relatives. Furthermore, all of them were judeoconversos and took advantage of this economic activity not only to enrich themselves but also to progress in society.
