Abstract

ZnO-nanoparticles, as a recyclable heterogeneous catalyst, efficiently promoted the one-pot threecomponent Mannich reaction of ketones, aromatic aldehydes and amines in water to afford the corresponding β-amino carbonyl compounds in good to excellent yields and with moderate diastereoselectivity. The method offers a new modification of the Mannich reaction with a simple workup procedure. © ARKAT-USA, Inc.
