ANALISIS KUALITAS BATUGAMPING SEBAGAI BAHAN BAKU UTAMA SEMEN PORTLAND PADA PT. SEMEN TONASA PROVINSI SULAWESI SELATAN

Abstract

Limestone is a type of non-metalilc minerals that become the main raw material manufacture of cement. This studyaims to determinethe qualitylimestones. One ofthe tools usedin the analysis oflimestoneto determinethe content ofunsusrthe chemical elementscontained inthe sample, namely, by usingX-Ray fluorescencewhich aims tofind out thelevelsofeach of the elements. From the research conducted, limestone of PT Semen Tonasa is white, with mohs scale of hardness 2, 5 to 3, tenacity hard, compact, partially porfiri, has a mineral composition of quartz, calcite, magnesite, dolomite. The results of the analysis of the quality of CaO in the limestone has met the standards set by the company that is (55.00%), the average number of CaO analysis on limestone in 25 blocks is (55.33%). The more of the assay of CaO contained in the better the limestone used for the manufacture of portland cement.
