Abstract

This article reviews the work of Mikhail Bakhtin, an author who has become referent for contempy social science. Here we review some of its most important conceptual proposals such as the notions of utterance, dialogue, responsiveness, and heteroglossia discourse genres, as part of a theory centered on the activity. From this review we discuss some effects that these concepts have to consider the subject and the social as objects of theory and research in social sciences.
