Allergic reactions after egg-free recombinant influenza vaccine: Reports to the US vaccine adverse event reporting system

Abstract

The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System has received reports of allergic reactions following immunization with eggfree recombinant influenza vaccine, among patients with a self-reported egg allergy or previous allergic reaction to inactivated influenza vaccine. These results suggest that allergic reactions following influenza vaccination are not necessarily related to egg proteins.
