Abstract

Plastic waste is made from non-renewable chemicals, to decompose plastic waste takes approximately 8 years to be completely degraded, the use of plastic can be said to be unfriendly to the environment if used without certain restrictions. However, plastic waste can be utilized in the construction sector, especially roads. This study aims to determine the effect of adding plastic waste to the AC-WC asphalt mixture. the type of plastic used in this study was LDPE with a plastic content of 4-6% by weight of asphalt. From the results of the research conducted, the Marshall values obtained met the Binamarga specification standards in 2018. The addition of plastic waste to the AC WC asphalt mixture increases the stability and flow values, the greater the composition of the added plastic, the greater the stability and flow values.
