Abstract

To remain strong in today's market, organizations must discover new ways to exploit company strengths while keeping costs under control; tackle strategic opportunities without depleting resources; and nurture innovation while protecting profitability. Strategic alliances are an expedient way to crack new markets, gain skills, technology or products and share fixed costs and resources. Such an alliance has been forged between Fong's National Engineering Co. Ltd and Vald Henriksen. This paper was presented at the 1993 world conference of the Textile Institute held in Hong Kong.
