Enteral controlled-release opioid delivery systems

Abstract

Multiple formulations exist to provide enteral controlled-release (CR) opioid delivery. An appreciation of these various delivery systems may provide clinicians with the knowledge to feel comfortable utilizing multiple different opioid CR formulations in their practices in efforts to optimize patient analgesia while minimizing adverse effects. © 2009 American Academy of Pain Medicine.
