Abstract

National Steel Corporation developed a method to better use its suppliers and processors. The intent was to create a partnership environment, thus, the company developed Partners in Performance (PIP). The PIP program is divided into three segments: outside processing and warehousing, purchasing and raw materials, and traffic and transportation. This article discusses the purchasing and raw materials segment.
