Tingkat Intelligence Quotient Pada Anak Usia 2-5 Tahun Berdasarkan Riwayat Lama Pemberian ASI

Abstract

Early weaning is one of the problems in breastfeeding. Early weaning will cut the transfer of breast milk fat in infants which are unsaturated fats containing omega 3 for maturation of brain cells, so that the brain tissue of babies who are breastfed for 2 years or more will grow optimally and be free from seizure stimulation, with the long-term impact of children more intelligent and protected from damage to brain nerve cells. This study aims to analyze the level of Intelligence Quotient (IQ) in children aged 2-5 years with a long history of breastfeeding. This study is a comparative analytic study, with a population of all early childhood education programs (ECEP) students as many as 31 children taken in total alongside 4 ECEP Pakis District, Malang. Data collection using research instruments oldbreast milk identification sheets and Binet intelligence quotient test equipment. The results showed that there were differences in the intelligence quotient level of children aged 2-5 years with a history of breastfeeding (t-count 2,073> t-table 2,045). ASI is an ideal nutrient with the right composition, and adapted to the needs of the baby which is very necessary for the baby's brain to grow optimally.
