In this paper, we have used a capacitor model to reproduce the known analytical formulas of space charge limited current transport inside both trap-free and trap-filled solids in planar geometry. It is found that the approach is simple when compared to the traditional method as the latter involves solving second order differential equation. Exact analytical results can also be obtained for cylindrical diode with an outer radius much larger than the inner radius. © 2011 American Institute of Physics.
