Abstract

Solid silica supported ferric chloride (SiO2-FeCl3) catalyzed one-step synthesis of various benzimidazoles from ophenylenediamine and aldehydes using H2O2 as the oxidant. The salient features of this method are simple and convenient procedure, easy purification and shorter reaction times.
