A good way to overcome the impact of copper pollution is the bioadsorption method using Matoa husk powder (Pometia pinnata). The purpose of this study was to determine the absorption and effective absorption of metal ions (Cu 2+) with changes in pH and concentration. Based on the research, the optimum absorption of Cu 2+ metal ion was 12,059 mg/g at pH 5, concentration 220 ppm, particle size 180 μm , contact time 90 minutes and stirring speed 300 rpm. The adsorption isotherm of Cu 2+ metal with matoa skin biosorbent (Pometia pinnata) appears based on the Freundlich isothermal equation with a coefficient of determination (R) of 0.9992. Matoa Shell Powder was characterized by FTIR measurements, before activation, after treatment and after contact with analytes, hydroxyl groups (O-H), alkenes (C=C), carbonyl (C-O) and ethers (-COC).
