Abstract

The electoral reforms implemented in some Latin American countries at the 90's have had a strong impact over the women access to elected positions, although there is not a consensus about the electoral systems' components that affect the women participation in politics through especific electoral laws. This article analyses the effects of electoral mechanisms on women's participation in politics in some municipalities in Argentina.
