Abstract

The broad knowledge of the chemistry of the Compositae allows the discussion of its relevance for the systematics and evolution within the family. Furthermore a separation into subfamilies can be supported by the observed differences in the distribution of the main constituents in the tribes. © 1990 Springer-Verlag.
