La línea 12 en la mira de la sociología de las élites delincuentes

Abstract

The partial closure of the Mexico City Subway line 12 during 2014 exposed a series of technical, political and financial decisions which were erratic, did not follow existing regulations and were sometimes defiant of public ethics. This paper analyses the administrative, political and social reactions to the deviations form legal norms as well as from ethical and professional conventions focusing on behaviors frequently associated with corruption and white-collar crime. After outlining the core concerns of the sociology of criminal elites, the major elements of the case study will be highlighted. Finally, the paper concludes by drawing attention to the intellectual productivity of the Subway Line 12 affaire according to the sociology of criminal elites.
